| Hirochicken05-05-07, 07:52 PM | While I was playing a D&D game online, my internet died for a short bit. So I with nothing else to do I decided to try and make some spells I've had in mind for a while. I want to share them, and get some help on some bits of them. The first I'm just having trouble placing for spell level. Tasha's Uncontrollably Hideous Sister Illusion School (Phantasm)[Mind-Affecting] Level: Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels) Target: One creature; see text Duration: 1 round/level Saving Throw: Will disbelief, then Fort partial; see text Spell Resistance: Yes You see an incredibly ugly woman who is covered in warts, scabs, and blisters. She walks towards you, her lips puckered and aiming for a kiss. You feel as if emptying your stomach and bowels is the only thing you can do as you stare in horror. You create a phantasmal image of the most hideously ugly woman imaginable to the subject simply by forming the fears of the subject’s subconscious mind into something that its conscious mind can visualize: this most ugly and disturbing woman. Only the spell’s subject can see the Uncontrollably Hideous Sister. You see only a vague shape. The target first gets a Will save to recognize the image as unreal. If that save fails, the phantasm kisses the subject, and the subject must succeed on a Fortitude save or become nauseated for the duration of this spell. Even if the Fortitude save is successful, the subject is sickened for 5 rounds. A creature with a Intelligence score of 2 or lower is not affected. A creature whose type (such as humanoid or dragon) is different from the caster's receives a +2 bonus on its saving throw because "ugliness" is relative to race. If the subject of a Tasha's Uncontrollably Hideous Sister attack succeeds in disbelieving and is wearing a helm of telepathy, the woman can be turned upon you. You must then disbelieve it or become subject to its deadly kiss attack. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Basically just a combination of Phantasmal Killer and Tasha's Hideous Laughter with a dash of comedy. I'm thinking Wiz/Sor 3rd as it is not a save-or-die like Phantasmal Killer (a 4th level spell), but not sure as it is a save-or-loose type spell. Should the duration be changed to 1 round/2 levels? And what about Bards and Beguilers? Anyways, onto the second spell. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Paladin Calvary Illusion (Compulsion, Figment)[Mind-Affecting] Level: Components: Casting Time: Range: Target: Duration: Saving Throw: Spell Resistance: Yes A group of paladins on horseback appear on the horizon calling out, "The paladins of Tyr are coming!" boosting your allies resolve and striking fear into your enemies. Now this is where I'm having trouble. I'm wanting to make an affect that will boost the caster's allies morale as well as shake fear into the enemies hearts. Maybe something like Prayer, but enemies shaken, mixed with Phantom Battle from the PHB2. So what are your suggestions? |
