If I read this right, the Amulet of Proof against Detection and Location prevents a caster from seeing an invisible creature with the spell See Invisibility (Barring the level check). My DM doesnt agree. Or maybe doesnt want to  !!

So any opinions on this.

Cheers

Your DM is right. The amulet emulates the nondetection spell, which only protects you from actual detection and certain types of scrying. The see invisible spell overcomes your invisibility effect, it doesn't 'detect' you.

According to Sage's advice in 3.0 era, you are right, P_N.

The amulet acts as Non-detection.

Sproik is wrong. The spell Non-detection does protect you against the spell See Invisible. This is clear both from the actual words in the Non-detection spell as well as the many times that the Sage has discussed the issue.

It should be noted that neither the spell non-detection nor the amulet PREVENT you from being seen. Instead it forces the "see-er" to roll a caster level check. For the amulet, the DC is 19, something that even a 1st level caster could make, and that an 18th level caster could not fail.

Non-detection is pretty much the major all around protection against diviniation spell. The caster level check instead of simple blanket protection makes it appropriate to stop things that are much higher level such as True Seeing, let alone the lower level See Invisible.

Note, things like Glitterdust (not a diviniation spell) will still work even if you have Non-detection or the amulet.

Note that the amulet only protects against see invisible if you are actually invisible! (Just in case anybody gets confused.) :P
