Hi Guys,

I read the 'called' armour-ability from MIC (+2000gp, p.9) and it gave me an idea.
(the 'calling' ability, let's you 'call' your armour from a great distance. It appears donned on your body)

I was thinking about creating such an armour that is also a storage divise; something like a 'hevards handy haversack' (2000gp) or 'bag of holding.' And besides being an armour you can 'call' (like with the 'calling ability), I also want to be able to 'sent' it away to a familiar location too.

What would be the price of such an item?

So, Base price armour ...
+ 'calling and sending' armour: +4000 gp
+ storage of minor 'haversack' (2 cubic feet): + 1000 gp * 150% (second function)

For a total of (Armour+5500 GP). Is that a reasonable price?

Seems good. I believe this belongs in the "Equipment and Combat" forum, though.

Anyway, what would you be storing in the 2 cubic feet?

There is already a similar item, called the Ring of Arming, page 122 of the Magic Item Compendium. I don't think it is unreasonable to say you could "program" it to only swap certain armors or weapons, maybe for a minor extra cost.

Anyway, what would you be storing in the 2 cubic feet? Just to store away small magical items like wands, nechlaces, belts, gloves etc. It seemed to me a nice way to secure my magical items, when I'm caught.

Try the Wand Bracelet, page 147 :D

Or a Cloak of Weaponry, page 89 :D

Or the Belt of Hidden Pouches, page 74 :D

Or the Belt of Many Pockets, in Complete Arcane (and probably Arms and Equipment Guide).

Or the Possum Pouch, Complete Adventurer.

Thanks for the ideas! My question still stand though.

Try the Wand Bracelet, page 147 :D Boring and too expensive (12000gp). When I get caught, I'll loose this bracelet too.... a quick check with 'detect magic' is made easily.

Or a Cloak of Weaponry, page 89 :D I'm not a warrior, I'm a Beguiler.

Or the Belt of Hidden Pouches, page 74 :D I like the thorough dscription: a move action to take something out and the possibility to use SoH is nice.....but the same problem as with item #1 applies: I can still loose it when caught

Or the Belt of Many Pockets, in Complete Arcane (and probably Arms and Equipment Guide). same same

Or the Possum Pouch, Complete Adventurer. Nice idea, but in the end, the above items are much more effective (it has a saml capacity)

My point: I like the idea of sending an item safely away, besídes having a storage capacitity.

Drawmij's instant summons, plus reversed version? I cannot think of any existing, permanent, long-range summon & storage options.

If you can find a way of hiding the focus (Invisibility and a Nystul's Magic Aura to hide the spell might work), Leomund's Secret Chest is another option.

The tiny replica can be made arbitrarily small. It can even be targetted itself by Shrink Item, so that if you start with a 1/2 inch replica, you end up with a 1/24 inch replica, the size of a grain of sand.

If the focus is tiny then just use suggler's boots to hide it.(Arms and Equipment Guide page 30)

Or, we can just get a Ring of Invisibility and not get caught in the first place, instead of going through all these other methods :ayyyy!:
