I've concocted this spell for a character I have that's a bit of a trickster. However, I have no idea as to what Spell Level this spell should be placed, nor of the duration.

Raziliciel’s Familiar Merge
Transmutation
Level: Sor/Wiz ?
Components: V, S, F (Familiar)
Casting Time: 1 full round
Range: Personal/Touch
Duration: ?
Saving Throw: Will Negates
Spell Resistance: No

You and your familiar merge in body and mind. Your new (and temporary) form is a hybrid combination of you and your familiar complete with opposable thumbs. Certain hybrid combinations may If you are killed in this form, you both revert to normal and are BOTH dead.

Your familiar can stop this merge with a successful Will save. A successful Dispel can work to undo this spell as well.

Arcane Focus: The Familiar itself

Adjustments:
-You gain a Natural Armor bonus equal to the adjustment your familiar’s.
-You gain improved evasion.
-If your familiar could speak with animals of its kind you can.
-If your familiar has spell resistance you do.
-You gain the benefits of Alertness.
-Any Special bonuses gained depending on your familiar apply.
-You gain any special movement your familiar possessed. Example, if your familiar had a fly speed of 30feet, you gain wings (or whatever) and can fly as the familiar could. Though if you already had a special speed, use the better of the two.
-You gain any racial skill bonuses that your familiar had.
-You gain any special qualities your familiar possessed.
-You gain any extraordinary special attacks and natural attacks your familiar possessed.
-You gain a bonus to your dexterity and wisdom equal to your familiar’s respective ability scores minus 10. (Familiar’s Dex/Wis – 10 = your bonus!)

Yikes that is a powerful spell! Someone with the Improved Familiar Feat could TOTALLY break that spell. I am no good at balancing spells, but I would put the spel level pretty high (level 5 or higher), and then maybe have it with a fairly short duration, 1 round per level. If you want a longer duration, I would put it at level 8 or 9.

Interesting idea for a spell though.

You could restrict it to the standard familiars and make it a level 4. A 'greater' version of this spell could also use improved familiar and then make the 'greater' version about level 7. Level 9 would be too high since at that level shapechange is far more powerfull.
