| Antioch06-30-05, 07:02 PM | Amulet of Flatulence Negation: While wearing the amulet you no longer cut the cheese. The gases are magically absolved prior to expulsion, and do not accumulate or cause you any ill effects or harm. Faint transmutation; CL 3; Craft Wondrous Item; Price 25 gp; Weight 1 lb. |
| RavenDrake07-01-05, 03:11 AM | Perfect item. Useful, thoughtful, effective, and tactically useless. (Unless there's some weird farting demon somewhere... you may want to put a 24 hour attinuation period on this thing) |
| Vaalingrade Ashland07-01-05, 03:15 AM | I'm just deeply saddened that given the title, there was absolutely no reference to moose and squirrel. |
| Antioch07-01-05, 03:15 AM | Wow...I didnt think anyone would reply to this thread. A farting demon deserves to be taken down by such a worthless item. |
| SureFoot07-01-05, 09:10 AM | would this item affect the poop demon from the movie Dogma? |
| Seeker9507-01-05, 11:03 AM | What spell goes into its creation? If there is no magic (only alchemy) in its creation, then I suggest this become a pair of underwear rather than an amulet. |
| Someone07-01-05, 12:16 PM | I would think it would be some sort of alchemical tablet that you eat, rather than some continuous magic item. That and your price is way off. A better setup would be: Faint transmustation; CL 1; Craft Wondrous Item, prestidigitation; Price 1,000 gp; Weight negligable. 25 gp would be for a one-shot deal that only lasted an hour or so. |

Technically that would be true, but you also have to use your judgement based on how useful for powerful the item actually is. Sometimes the prices need to be adjusted. The problem is that this item is so glaringly useless that 1k is waaaaay too much. |
| Seeker9507-02-05, 08:19 AM | The problem is that this item is so glaringly useless that 1k is waaaaay too much. Not to a regent with gas problems. Lowering the price of something because it isn't that useful is just bad economics. We had 1000MHz chip sets long before they were marketed to the public. Until the manufacturing price was reduced, the market price was going to keep it off the market. If the flatulence preventative costs too much, it just means there will be few people who will buy it. Those who really want it will pay whatever it costs. |
| Antioch07-02-05, 01:55 PM | This item takes up a valuable amulet slot and offers absolutely no mechanical benefits what-so-ever. I've yet to see a PC or NPC that possesses such a trait, and even after introdcution of this item I still seriously doubt I will. Looking at other wondrous items running a similar vein, I see things like bracers of armor and the lowly cloak of resistance +1, both of which actually provide a worthwhile benefit for their occupance. Therefore, using 1k as a baseline I would reduce the cost to about 1/4 (250gp) the "standard" cost for this item. |
