| smilingcyclops05-01-05, 02:11 AM | I just acquired a pair of winged boots, and was trying to brainstorm some non-tactical, perhaps non-sensical uses for it. So far, all I've got is to tie 20 feet of rope on the flyer, tie the other end on a tower shield and let someone surf on the shield. As we're on Athas, there's plenty of sweet jumps, I mean, dunes about...I forsee a reflex save in the future... Does flying up higher help out spot checks for extreme distances? Geometrically, the distance is slightly increased (pythagoras! i curse thee!), but usually towers, ferris wheels, mountains, etc let you see further out. Would a smokestick(s) let me write messages in the sky? Thanks bunches, Cutter @-) |

Make small fortune from passers-by. Tie one end of rope to a rock and fly in a circle around it, initiating trip attempts from lots of people without provoking attacks of opprotunity (?). Of course, everyone gets to make a trip attempt on the flyer if the flyer fails the trip... |

Make figures, animals, etc. that can puzzle future generations of bards and engineers: What is it? Why did they do it? How did they do it? Spray a fine mist of water towards your boots, and let the wings fan it into a cooling breeze for the others in your party. |
