So I've always wanted to play a Cleric or Wizard that is aslo a little bit Rogue. I would open a store, and sell magic items. But not all of them would be real or good. Here are some that I've alrerady thought up:

1) Potion of Stone Stregnth: A potion that is described as making you as strong as stone itself. In all actuality, it is a potion with the flesh to stone spell in it. This would turn the drinker into stone. Since the spell is a flesh to stone spell, the items of said person would be usable, simply getting them off is the only problem.

2)"Bag of Holding": a simple bag. It holds stuff, and larger bags are for the more "magical."

3)Dagger of Wounding: This dagger is advertised as inflicting light wounds with every successful hit. Really this is simply a normal dagger that simply damages it's weilders opponent. This could easily go up in str. with higher blades.

All I can really think of now.

Brillian - if you want to be in business for an afternoon, then close up shop and run for your life.

Consider what your own PC would do if he purchased a magical item that was bogus... NPC's are the same way.

And there are lots more NPC's in a world, than PC's.

Good luck, Mike.

Well, my character will never say that it is magical. He would just use the names.

I'm just coming up with good ideas.

4) Sheild of protection: kind of self explanitory.

5) Key of unlocking: a masterwork skeleton key. *note: shopkeepers should have a very specialized lock in order to keep thieves from buying this and "magically" opening their doors.

Why bother with Cleric or Wizard when you're just selling nonmagical stuff? Just play Rogue and max Bluff and Craft. Although, you'll probably want to max Skip Town while you're at it, since you'll get the most use out of that one.

I always liked the idea of a "singing sword" -- it would even detect as magical. In reality, just a normal sword with a permanent Magic Mouth spell, and a single song repituar (sp?). Try this one: "This is the song that never ends...."
