zopzop 06-13-07, 07:59 PM	This is like the big cheese of enchantment spells : works against any creature not immune to mind spells, permanent duration, no HD restriction. On the downside it has a pretty hefty exp cost. I have a few questions about this spell though : 1) If I successfully enthrall a creature and he walks into an antimagic field or dead magic zone, is he still under my control? 2) Does dispel magic or disjunction remove it from the enthralled creature? 3) If I were to cast a protection from XXX spell on the thrall, would it break my Monstrous Thrall spell? 4) What if another creature attempts to dominate my thrall using a spell or spell-like ability of lower level? Monstrous Thrall is a 9th level spell, what would happen if someone cast Charm monster or Dominate Person on my thrall? 5) What happens if someone casts Dominate Monster (a 9th level spell) on my thrall? Is my thrall under their control now? Thanks in advance.

Monstrous Thrall is a 9th level spell, what would happen if someone cast Charm monster or Dominate Person on my thrall? and 5) What happens if someone casts Dominate Monster (a 9th level spell) on my thrall? Is my thrall under their control now? there is a mechanic for these occasions which can be found in the PHB (and ther SRD): Multiple Mental Control Effects: Sometimes magical effects that establish mental control render each other irrelevant, such as a spell that removes the subjects ability to act. Mental controls that don’t remove the recipient’s ability to act usually do not interfere with each other. If a creature is under the mental control of two or more creatures, it tends to obey each to the best of its ability, and to the extent of the control each effect allows. If the controlled creature receives conflicting orders simultaneously, the competing controllers must make opposed Charisma checks to determine which one the creature obeys.
