| Khul04-18-06, 11:52 AM | "Share Spells: At the paladin’s option, she may have any spell (but not any spell-like ability) she casts on herself also affect her mount." Do magic items that simulate spell effects, like (eg.) helm of heroism, potion of of endurance or amulet of natural armour etc., affect the mount/familiar/companion (when they're whithin 5 feet of course) through Share Spells ability. If they do then what about continuous magical items? Where is the line if there is any? Thanks. |

The share spells ability applies only to spells you cast. Magic items may simulate spell effects, but you are not casting spells with them. This applies to wands, staves and scrolls as well, although some DMs may allow these to be used to share spells. |

| nhs_boy04-18-06, 01:35 PM | Not certain here, but would spell-trigger items (scrolls, wands, etc.) be considered 'casting' more than just use-activated stuff? |
| Khul04-18-06, 01:47 PM | Rules don't clarify this so I suppose it is on DM to decide (house rule). I will allow it for scrolls (spell completion items), wands and staffs (spell trigger items). |
