Wall of Thorns, Wall of Ice, Wall of Iron, etc.

I like the battlefield control aspect of using Wall spells. What I am curious about are extremely creative uses of Wall spells that you just don't see used very often.

Care to share any of your wickedly innovative way to use Wall spells? :evillaugh

Is it possible to create a wall of iron horizontally in midair and let it fall onto an opponent??
The descriptions in 3.0 and 3.5 aren't clear. It suggests that the wall is created imbeded into the surrounding ground, and that it is possible to "create it(sic) vertically resting on a flat surface". It doesn't say that it has to be touching the floor or ground when created.

Check the description of conjuration spells in the magic chapter of the PHB. For easy refrence:Conjuration
<snip>
A creature or object brought into being or transported to your location by a conjuration spell cannot appear inside another creature or object, nor can it appear floating in an empty space. It must arrive in an open location on a surface capable of supporting it.
emphasis mine
So, unless a spell specifically states otherwise (such as Cometfall from Complete Divine) you cannot use a conjuration spell to summon/call/create anything in midair.

An all-time-classic use of wall spells:
Cast Wall of Stone or Wall of Force behind enemy lines.
Cast Wall of Iron between your and your enemies front lines.
Tip the Wall of Iron (it does not get imbeded on surrounding material per se like Wall of Stone) at your opponents; use extra-umphy summoed monster for this job.
Use said monster to continue mauling enemies on the other side.

:b: I like to use iron wall and animate object. To move I have it curl into a tube and roll around. We used the trample rules. That or have it stand up and fall over again. Another good one is have it wrap around the opponent.

Than there is the oven. First you have to capture some food with wall of stone. Shape it as a 20' radius. Than drop in a wall of fire shaped as a ring right next to the wall with the heat going inward. Cook until the food stops moving.

Wall of force is good for creatures with the feat fly by. Unless they can some how see it. Place it in there path and they will slam right into it. Damage is half there last movement as if falling.

You guys aren't tactically-minded enough. Here's how to use a Prismatic Wall.

Step one: spot opponent. Ready to cast Prismatic Wall on the opponent moving.
Step two: Opponent moves. Your readied action triggers, and you cast Prismatic Wall in his path. Since according to the description on readied actions, he must finish his action, he has no choice but to walk through the wall. Goodbye, opponent.
