What happens to an animal companion, however, when you simply use an intelligence-boosting item on them? Example: A 4th level druid feeds his wolf companion a potion of Fox's Cunning, giving her +4 enhancement bonus to the wolf's intelligence. Is the wolf still considered the druid's animal companion? Does the wolf suddenly lose 2 HD and evasion when it drinks the potion? Would you still need "tricks" to get the wolf to do what you want her to do? I'm looking, as always, for a combination of RAW, RAI, and Personal Preference, preferrably separated and labelled as such. Thanks in advance! |
