| parad0cz07-12-06, 06:31 PM | So what is a good level to put a spell that raises animals back from the dead? I know traditionally furred and feathered friends die with all the remose of a spent wand(maybe less). COme to think of it, thats how it usually works with NPCs, and PCs usually. You might have adventured with him for years, saved each others lives countless times, and the first words out of your mouth postmortum are "Dibs on his stuff" And thats with itemed guys, how much more so with animals without gear! But i shouldnt be that way! A wizard should more his familiar more than the XP loss, and a druid should shed a tear over his animal companion. Why wouldnt they try to rez them? So what is a good Level for Animal Raise Dead? |

| parad0cz07-12-06, 11:48 PM | Are you serious? You think a spell raising an animal is as good as raising a PC? I would think that raising an animal would justify AT LEAST a level lower, if not two. Why do you think it'd be overpowered to have a lowel level animal rez? |
| SoldierOfFortune18707-12-06, 11:52 PM | Because Raise Dead currently functions on animals. You want to raise your animal companion or pet, a Raise Dead does this. Making a higher level spell a little less general does not always necessarily warrant the creation of a new spell. Whether it can be argued that raising a dead animal requires any less energy or divine intervention than a raising a 20th level character, the same spell works on both. |
