| ElyasRavenwood12-30-07, 12:17 PM | How does the animate dead spell work? How does the spells get those old bones moving? Please lets avoid any discussion on weather this spell is evil, (the spell description settles this discussion for my purposes), or shall we say convenient (a porter which will carry your bags, but never need to be tipped nor fed for example). Is there any thing in the description of the spell from the 3.5 edition or any previous edition that goes into how the spell works? Is there information from other sources such as Liber Mortis or the complete necromancer or complete shi’iar? (I am thinking of the Ghul Lord kit)? What animates the corps? Is the deceased’s spirit torn from the afterlife and used like a coppertop battery to run its old corps? Is it simply like plugging the corps into a wall socket to get some negative energy to get the corpse moving? What do people think? And what does the text of the spell descriptions say? Thanks |
