I have a question about Animate Dead, Create Undead and other such spells.
Animate Dead says it can create just zombies skeletons while Create Undead and Create Greater Undead both have a list of four or five different types of undead which can be made with them. Then, while perusing the MM IV, I noticed that some of the undead could be created using these spells and my curiousity was piqued.
What undead besides the ones listed in the PHB can be made with the Animate Dead type spells?

animate dead can only make skeletons and zombies... I can't think of a single exception.

Create undead/greater undead can only make what is listed in the spell description, plus anything that says that they can be created by one of those spells in thier monster description.

you would have to look each monster up individualy to see if it qualifies or not.

You can animate blood hulks and necrosis carnex from the MMIV with animate dead, but you also provide additional components and/or time, and the blood hulks count as double HD for purposes of controlling.

The Lost Empires Of Ferune book, has three variant undead that can specifically be made with said spell. My favorit is the Dread(?).
Its a pair of floating arms, with a fear aura and a noted ability to respond to complex comands.
I want two of them in harnesses(saddles?) on my back for some undead style Doc Ock goodness.
The other two are intelligent skeletons, and inteligent evil undead is something I avoid.
