| Vegepygmy12-26-06, 05:03 PM | If I animate dead as a cleric, are the undead controlled seperate from those I animate as a Necromancer for the purposes of controling undead?Yes. The number of skeletons/zombies you can control is a function of your caster level. As a cleric/necromancer, you have two caster levels--your cleric caster level, and your necromancer caster level. Thus, you can control [4 x your cleric caster level] HD worth of skeletons/zombies plus [4 x your necromancer caster level] HD worth of skeletons/zombies. |

| vardock12-27-06, 11:08 AM | thanks, that is what I thought, I just wanted a second opinion. and Seeker. get a Libris mortis, you would see how a truly powerful undead master can be. I am makeing a Necromancer/cleric of Affux (one of the domains granted powers is the abality to control 3 times your caster level of undead. then going into true necromancer, which goes 4 levels beyond mystic thurge, as well asgiving me some cool abalites. |
| belewda12-27-06, 02:09 PM | Just remember, without a TON of undead around you're going to be severely gimped as a true necromancer. I'm playing one in my current campaign and I love the character but I'm pretty ineffective. The character is 3 spell levels behind where he should be in both cleric and wizard spells. I highly recommend learning a lot of spells without saving throws. |
| Seeker9512-27-06, 02:46 PM | tand Seeker. get a Libris mortis undead master control 3 times your caster level of undead. then true necromancer, which goes 4 levels beyond mystic thurgeHowever, the mystic theurge allows advancement, including effective caster level, in both classes. At 16th level (clr3/wiz3/MyT10) you can control all CL13 worth of clerics undead and all CL13 worth of wizard undead. Throw on your Undead Master and/or True Necromancer for the remaining 4 levels, and add to the fun. :D |
