| Lixith03-27-07, 09:47 PM | My true neutral Wizard (8wiz, 3fatespinner) has a bit of a necromatic side. I want to create a skeleton to follow him around and fight for him. I'm leaning toward a Juvenile Gold Dragon. That's the oldest age catagory for the Large size. I don't want something so big it has a hard time following me. I chose a large draggon because it has 1 bite, 2 claw, 2wing, and 1 tale slap attack. And gold dragons have high strength, and will be immune to cold AND fire. O and it will REALLY creep out my party.... What would YOU animate? Maybe it's a better than goldie? |
| StalkerEntreri03-27-07, 09:50 PM | A hydra; possibly a displacer beast pack lord |
| zook1shoe66603-27-07, 09:53 PM | some scary templated creature :-p |
| runestar03-27-07, 10:12 PM | The skeletal dragons in draconomicon...:P |
| green_yawgmoth03-27-07, 10:47 PM | Yeah, can't go wrong with skeletal dragons. I'd probably go with a zombie dragon, though, as they retain (clumsy) flight, and their breath weapon (although weakened a bit). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/yawgmoth/kittyjig.gif |

| unusualsuspect03-28-07, 12:29 AM | Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Ritchie, etc. You can't successfully cast Animate Dead on already animate skeletons. Silly goose. |
| Metamagick03-28-07, 12:54 AM | You can't successfully cast Animate Dead on already animate skeletons. Silly goose. :invasion: Back on subject! I made a (epic) hafling necromancer once..he had a LEGION of undead orc fighter! He did, also, have a forset giant skelly. His name was Ash and my Jol (the wizard) rode on his shoulder casting fireballs. *sigh* We had good times raiding villages and gaining more undead for my army *cries* Sorry I get emotional talking about my fond memories....*runs away* :::Metamagick::: |
| mvincent03-28-07, 01:40 PM | What would YOU animate? Maybe it's a better than goldie?Balor or Storm Giant skeleton (in an unhallowed area) to get the max HD. Other good ones: Hydra skeleton Nightmare skeleton (as a mount, since it retains its flying ability) |
| ZiggZagg03-28-07, 01:43 PM | Just because it is said in every other thread like this...I would skelecize Pun Pun LoL |
| malignor03-28-07, 01:51 PM | Depends. You have ranks in Ride? If so, get a fast and sturdy quadraped. The nightmare (listed already) is a prime example. Or a Centaur. A skeletal Centaur would be fun. Arm it with a lance and charge away. Or a Hydra (also mentioned). Hydras have a swim speed and a land speed, plus that nasty attack sequence. Or get an Ettin (retains Superior TWF) and attach a chair between its heads. No point getting a ladder on it when you can just say "Ettin! On your knees." |
