Animated Tower Shield [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-16-04, 03:11 PM Can you place the animated special ability on a tower sheld. If so would you still incure the -2/hit for using a tower shield? I have a great sword wielding fighter who is lacking in AC and I'm tring to decide how to spend some recently aquired loot. Any help would be apreciated.

02-16-04, 04:15 PM Yes you can. A tower shield is still a shield (in the game, anyway).

And yes you do. A tower sheld gives you a minus to hit because of the protection it offers you. To get around the difficulty to hit would require leaving the protection of the tower shield. To protect you, it has to get in your way.
