If a cleric was to cast Harm and they missed thier touch attack on the creature but touched a wall, would the spell dissapate and be lost? Again thank you for any help.

_if_ a cleric touches a wall, then his Harm spell discharges harmlessly (hah!).
however, i am not aware of any rule saying a cleric can accidentally touch a wall with a failed touch attack.

The wall is not a creature, so I suppose the harm would not be discharged, and you are free to attempt to hit your target again next round.

Otherwise the wall is not a valid target, and won't discharge the spell.

That it is the wrong target doesn't hinder the spell on discharging. When you cast Charm Person on a Mind Flayer you don't keep the spell because the target is not valid. You use the spell but it has no effect.

Holding the Charge
If you don’t discharge the spell in the round when you cast the spell, you can hold the discharge of the spell (hold the charge) indefinitely. [...] If you touch anything or anyone while holding a charge, even unintentionally, the spell discharges. So, there you go. However, this does raise the question of what constitutes "touch anything". Does walking along the ground (your feet touch the ground) discharge the spell?

We rule that if you touch *anything* with your charged hand, you discharge the spell.
Valid target or not.

This is another poorly written aspect of the rules, particularly when it comes to grappling. An intelligent foe would try and twist your hand back upon yourself or buffet you into your allies and an unintelligent foe, like say a purple worm, might unintentionally cause that when it say, swallows you and your ally whole.
This has happened a couple of times in my games and I've merely had to be a DM and adjucate on the particular circumstances.
