| AzraelNoir11-17-04, 04:57 PM | Im sure this has been asked before. maybe not cause its not really in the rules, just wanted to know if this was possible. ok, say you have 6 spells on your person, and someone uses dispel magic (the area one) which dispels one of them starting at the highest, like with saves or spell resistance (yes i know it does not allow any) could you just voulentarly let it take the highest level spell without it even making a check thus leaving your lower ones safe. I dont suppose you can, im just asking. |
| calypso11-17-04, 04:59 PM | Nope, you're not doing anything. The caster of Dispel Magic has to make a caster level check against your caster level. So... you're not involved in the process at all. Therefore, nope, sorry. Calypso |

| IMarvinTPA11-17-04, 06:54 PM | Here's my try at such a spell: Dispel Shield School: Abjuration Level: Clr 3, Sor/Wiz 3 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Recharge Time: 6 hours Range: Personal Target: You Duration: 1 hour/level (D) Source: ATB Short Description: This spell protects you from dispel magic attemps by being dispelled first. When an area dispel magic lands on you, this spell automatically registers as the highest level spell, even if it is not, and also automatically fails its caster level check. Thus protecting your other active spells. You may not have more than one dispel shield active at once. Any additional castings replace the previous ones. http://imarvintpa.selfhost.com/dndLive/spells.asp?ID=5313 IMarv |
