Another Polymorph question! [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-18-06, 02:13 PM Ok I have another question about the polymorph spell. My character is of the Fey´ri race and they are outsiders. Can I polymorph into a devil who is an outsider as well... are the two of the same type?

And then again if I wanted to polymorph into a creature which has 8 hit dice and my character has 12 hit dice, do I get the 12 hit dice or is the spell limited to the monsters manual?

02-18-06, 05:04 PM You have the weapon, but it has the properties of your weapon I believe. So for example, if you have a dagger +1 and polymorph into a hound archon (which traditionally wields a cold iron greatsword), you will have a greatsword +1 - the hound archon's greatsword with the properties if the weapon you're using. And if you have no weapon in hand, it's a normal, nonmagic weapon.
