What would be the net effect of having your Project Image (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/projectImage.htm) spell be the center of your Antimagic Field (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/antimagicField.htm) spell?

Does the field now emanate from a point in space where your image was last at? Does the field effectively cancel itself since its emantion point is "turned off" by its effect?

I think "project image" cannot be casted inside an antimagic field at all... nothing can be casted inside an anitmagic field

Even if you could somehow sustain a project image in an AMF, I think AMF blocks line of effect, which cancels out your image anyways.:(

The image can't cast any spells on *itself* except illusion spells. To me, this includes emanations that would originate from the image -- i.e. I'm pretty sure you can't use the illusion to be the center of a magic circle against evil or invisibility sphere. That line in project image means that the image can do things like cast cure light wounds or fireball on other people it's interacting with, but it, itself, cannot be affected by magic other than illusions.

This ruling makes the most sense in my mind. If you were to rule otherwise, then because AMF would suppress the image as soon as it came into existence, and therefore the image would be winked out and incapable of moving or acting, so you'd have a static AMF sitting there until project image expires -- upon which I would say that, since the center of the AMF is completely gone, the AMF itself is completely gone.

Really, it's the fault of the designers for having a confusing and self-contradictory way of handling "Range". Yes, an AMF or antilife shell affects things at a range of 10 ft., but you're not casting it at a range of 10 ft., you're clearly casting it on *yourself* even though it's *affecting* things at a range of 10 ft. (In fact by definition antilife shell only affects things at a range of *greater* than 10 ft. by keeping them more than 10 ft. away.) These are spells that are *really* Range: Personal in the same way as Tenser's transformation or true strike, and it's best to treat them as such.
