I did a search and check for official errata but didnt turn up much on if this spell is a will save/ or will neg. object.

In the spell description it says will neg object, but first paragraph says target gets a will save after a ranged touch attack.

I would say it is both and they just forgot to mention/word it differently in the spell save details.

If no one knows what it is supposed to be, which way would you play it.

I'm confident that for a creature, it should be Will negates. This anyway doesn't conflict with the Will (object) tag...

(object)
The spell can be cast on objects, which receive saving throws only if they are magical or if they are attended (held, worn, grasped, or the like) by a creature resisting the spell, in which case the object uses the creature’s saving throw bonus unless its own bonus is greater. (This notation does not mean that a spell can be cast only on objects. Some spells of this sort can be cast on creatures or objects.) A magic item’s saving throw bonuses are each equal to 2 + one-half the item’s caster level.

It's Will Negates. The object tag is pointless, since a non-magical item doesn't even need a save (even if attended) for this one while magical items ALWAYS get a save...
