Are there any spells that operate similar to Antimagic Field but that are not centered on the caster?

For instance, if I had a caster who wanted to ensure no magic could be used in a certain area in his lair, what spell would be the best choice?

Thanks

We have Antimagic Ray (Sor/Wiz 7), for a single target.
If you want to block certain spells/schools, there's a spell that does that.
There's also a spell that absorbs a certain amount of spell levels on the area and manifests some spell in turn.
And Traps can have an AMF...

I'd create it as a 7th level spell and make "Target" an object.

Don't. It's quite broken to cast that spell and have the Fighter Ready an action to charge the Wizard. He'll die, with no chance. At the very least require a ranged touch and/or a save.

Sorry, it's early and I don't get your scenario.

I'll let you have your cofee and think it over, then... :whatsthis

Change casting time to 1 minute.

Much better, thank you. Seems the cofee is working... ;)

Yeah, it took me a second. Still would be great if cast on an arrow or bolt if you knew you were going into an encounter with magic using foes...

Happens to the best of us...
Anyhow, you're right, but it's hardly game-breaking to carry it for a while. It's quite risky to carry.

Just use shape spell feat, or scult spell feat etc.

Sculpt spell changes the area, not the target.

That means, while you could make it big enough to get other people, it would still include your own body.

There's already a spell like that. Antimagic aura I believe, from MoF.
It's a 7th level touch spell that grants antimagic to the recipient.

At least I got the level right. :D
