Any domains give clerics survival as a class skill? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I know that a cleric with the Travel domain gets to take Survival as a class skill, but are their any other domains published that do the same?

12-09-07, 01:40 AM There's also the Weather domain from Eberron. The domain benefits are kinda 'meh', but you do get some useful battlefield control and offensive spells with it.

not 100% sure of this, but I think one of the Planar Domains located in the back of the Spell Compendium also give the survival skill as a class skill.

You're correct the Arborea planar domain does give survival as a class skill, but you must be CG. Also as a planar domain it counts as BOTH of your domains chosen.

12-10-07, 06:08 PM That's not that bad really, I mean you still get two options for spells of each spell level, and if your using the spontaneous divine caster variant it works out the same as if you chose two domains. :) and the granted power from those Planar Domains is usually more powerful than any one domain that isn't planar related.

Is the person requesting this info looking to qualify for a prestige class or feat? The Arborea Domain and its CG requirement seems to fit perfectly for a Elf Cleric. :)

12-10-07, 07:06 PM Yeah, I was looking for early entry into the Seeker of the Misty Isle PrC without having to multiclass to achieve the 8 ranks in Survival.
The weather domain sounds like a good option to me - and I can't think of any reason that a cleric domain would be too Eberron-specific to fit in a general campaign.

(edit: I know I could just take the travel domain and thereby get survival as a class skill - but since SofMI gives you the Travel domain for free it seems like a bit of a waste to take that route)

12-11-07, 10:04 AM I recently did the same build but instead of trying to look for a domain that gave survival I just opened the Dungeon Masters Guide 2 to where it takes about Mentor and Apprenticeship, take the Woodsman Apprentice Feat, and you get knowledge nature and survival as class skills for your first 5 characters lvs, you also gain the ability to track things as if you had the track feat so long as the DC to track them is under 25 or something.

also im looking at the weather domain and I don't see any mentioning of survival as a class skill

This is the one used by the Eberron books or was updated from those books, it also list the Eberronian God "The Devourer" who offers it.
