Any idea why Negative Energy Protection was removed from 3.5? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I noticed they moved it's protections to death ward. A higher level spell, that lasts all day.

Any idea why WotC removed this spell? seems kinda random to me.

deathward is a much better spell.
