| Ieniemienie04-06-07, 08:40 AM | From the D20 SRD: Permanency (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/permanency.htm) |
| Seeker9504-06-07, 08:46 AM | And one that has been updated to reflect non-SRD spells as well: Permanency (http://www.imarvintpa.com/dndlive/spells.php?ID=3364) There have not been that many WotC spells added to the list over the years. But this list will pass an RPGA muster. |
| tarkin04-06-07, 12:11 PM | Seeker is right, that list will pass muster. However, note when it says "Spell: 8th level + 1 per spell level (min 9th) 500 XP * spell level (min 500 XP) " That is not permission to use it with any spell. Instead it is the formula used for all the existing spells on the list. --------------- I have found that there are basically two reasons why People want to make a spell Permanent: 1. For role-playing reasons they can not/do not want magic items. 2. They think "Wow, I really want this magic item/effect, but it is too expensive to buy. I KNOW!! Maybe I can convince my DM to let me get it made Permanent on me for a small fraciton of the cost." If the player has reason #1, they generally accept a ruling that the Permanent version costs 1/2 the price of the magic item, but can still be dispelled by a high enough caster. If the player has reason #2, they get all huffy and upset if you suggest theypay 1/2 the price of the magic item. They usually end by saying "I'll just get the magic item, then." Which is what they should have done in the first place, instead of trying to trick the DM. |
