Is there a magic item or any other costly trick I can use if I badly need to "prepare and cast" (as it is worded in ComplArc) a spell of higher level than I can normally cast? Like casting Glitterdust with a character of level 1-3, using some sort of ...cheat thingie? Is there a scroll work-around perhaps? Anyways, sorcerers can also PrC as e.g. MotAO (from the text: "... the order boasts almost no bards, sorcerers ...") and they certainly don't prepare any spells. Sloppy wording yet again? Just interested in what you guys who actually know the game have to say about it. Thanks a lot! |

| Eerongal04-22-08, 05:31 PM | the feat Precocious apprentice from complete arcane is what i think you would be looking for. It isn't in the feat section, its on a sidebar somewhere in the book (i'll check later) but as far as if it lets you qualify for a prestiege class is debated, and subject to DM approval. It lets you prepare a single 2nd level spell at level 1, but when you cast if you have to make a caster level check to see if you succeed. When you can cast 2nd level spells, you just have an extra spell slot. Once again, as i said, its very much so subjective to DM interpretation, so it isnt written as law as working like that. Hope that helps! |
