I was wondering if anyone has seen any dragon magazine articles or other wizard sources listing any additional spells that could be used with permanancy. In the srd, there is an exact list just as in the PHB, however in the PHB it implicates that additional spells might be made permenant with the permission of the DM. I can see that permanancy according to the list cost 500xp per spell level of the spell being made permenant.

Why not have true seeing a 5th level spell then cost 2500, or detect thoughts a 2nd level divinition similar to detect magic, and arcane sight spell cost 1000xp.

Any one got any ideas, or examples.

Tome and Blood has a table with additional spells, as does Savage Species. Certain spells note in the description that they can be used with permanency. I remember Sandstorm having a couple.

My House Rule.

1. Any existing spell that is published as Permantable, is allowed, as is.

2. I will also, as a special BONUS, allow any other spell to be made Permanent. Doing so does not use the cheap pricing used for the regular spellls. Instead it cost 75% of the cost to make an unslotted magic item that duplicates that ability.

This is expensive. I find that responses/people fall into two categories:

A. "WHAT A RIPPOFF!!! How dare you charge so much for this thing that I normally would not be allowed to do at all. You totally screwed with me, making me think I could trick you into getting a permanent magical effect on the cheap instead of paying full price for it. No Thank You."

B. "Fantastic!!!! Now I can get a +4 enhancement to my Ravid's strength, even though he can't wear a belt of strength"

tarkin, in general permancied spells aren't a great value due to the ease with which they can be destroyed.
