Search is down, so may be someone here can help?
Anyspell seems to allow one to prepare Arcane spells.
It does not seem to require that one use up any of your slots to do this.
Furthermore it does not have an expiration date like the Mnemomic Enhancer does, nor does it tie up the Anyspell slot like Imbue With Spell Ablity does. with Lastly, it seems to allow any Arcane spell, thus allowing a wide range of spells.
As an aside, the description I have calls the spells Arcane, but I am given to understand that this is not considered a legit prerequisite, but I don't see why.Can any one fill me in?
This all seems fishy, as enough down time would allow one to accumulate uncast spells of any Arcane stripe, with no cost other than spell books, which can be borrowed from friendly Pc casters.
What gives?

If we have the same copy of the spell (FR campaign setting), I dont see the problem.

You cast Anyspell (3rd level domain spell) and can now prepare any arcane spell of up to 2nd level in your domain slot, where Anyspell was located in. Therefore you cannot have more than one of those at the same time, because you cannot get any more domain slots. You only exchange a divine 3rd level spell for a 2nd level arcane one.

1.Anyspell seems to allow one to prepare Arcane spells.

It does.

2.It does not seem to require that one use up any of your slots to do this.

It does in fact use up a spell slot. It fills your 3rd level Domain slot.

3.Furthermore it does not have an expiration date like the Mnemomic Enhancer does, nor does it tie up the Anyspell slot like Imbue With Spell Ablity does. with Lastly, it seems to allow any Arcane spell, thus allowing a wide range of spells.

Yes, see above and yes.

4.As an aside, the description I have calls the spells Arcane, but I am given to understand that this is not considered a legit prerequisite, but I don't see why.Can any one fill me in?

Arcane spells are ones on the Wizard/Soc list.

5.This all seems fishy, as enough down time would allow one to accumulate uncast spells of any Arcane stripe, with no cost other than spell books, which can be borrowed from friendly Pc casters.
What gives?

Not Quite. You only get one 3rd level Domain slot a day. So that's only one AnySpell a day. It does let you cast any arcane spell, if you have a copy of it. If it's rare, your out of luck, no Elminster's Explode Planet.

All Anyspell realy does it let a cleric carry around one Arcane spell they may need to use.

Sorry for the silly questions, I'm going off of second hand/sketchy info...
I'm still confused as to why it isn't useful as a prerequisit for say, True Necromance( I'm sure I've read that somewhere). I am also left wondering if Arcane really means Sorc/Wiz only, or does it include Bards, Assasins, Nar Demon Binders,Spell Theifs, etc.?
I would like to try this spell out with the Domain Spontaneity feat, giving more uses per day. I'm so am interested in using the rules clerical spell research to add this spell to ones regular list., but thats for another thread...
What about this spell in an item? Lets say a wand, 'cause it avoids the problem of pricing/permiting a custom Item. With no slot to lose/use, could this item even work? Same problem as with A wand of Imbue With Spell Ablitity. The Clogged slot limitation either carries over into an item, making the item virtually useless/unusable, or it makes the limitation go away. Which might be a tad bit over powered. Which one is it?
Many thanks- Your Rump Fed Ronyon...

1.I'm still confused as to why it isn't useful as a prerequisit for say, True Necromancer...

The Prerq's for True Nec, in part, say 'must cast Command Undead as an Arcane Spell. ' AnySpell lets you cast an arcane spell, but it's still Divine Magic. Same way Burning Hands is a divine spell when cast from the Fire domain. It's a gray area to some, though.

2.I am also left wondering if Arcane really means Sorc/Wiz only, or does it include Bards, Assasins, Nar Demon Binders,Spell Theifs, etc.?
Well, FR-Wise, i'd say Mystra would only let this work for Sor/Wiz spells. Going by the book, however, gives you more. Arcane spells are used by Sor/Wiz and Bards. Assasins also use Arcane magic, as do Nar Binders. SpellTheifs don't even cast spells or have a spell list. The type of magic used by a class is listed in their description. Though finding a scroll of theas can be tough.

3.I would like to try this spell out with the Domain Spontaneity feat, giving more uses per day.

This would work, somewhat. You'd have no problem using this get an arcane spell in the domain slot, cast it some point later, and then refill the slot with an arcane spell. However, you could not convert a dozen spells, and have 12 arcane spells filling 12 domain slots.

4.What about this spell in an item? Lets say a wand, could this item even work?

Yes, but you'd have to have AnySpell on your spell list.

5.The Clogged slot limitation either carries over into an item, making the item virtually useless/unusable, or it makes the limitation go away. Which might be a tad bit over powered

It's say you still get the limit. It's not on the item, it's on the caster. you can only fill a slot once. The best another spell could do is overwrite it.

You shouldn't use Domain Spontainity for that.
--> That improves the Casting-Time by one step.
--> its normaly a Casting time of 10 Min., with the increasing that goes to ???,
Better take the Initiate of Mystra Feat from PG to Faerun, and you get the spell as a normal Cleric Spell...

Hey, great , informative responses guys!
My heart yearns for the power of the Initiate feats, but as I bow to no god, I am once again behind the curve. Those Mystra groupies geat everything!
Maybe if she where nuetral I could swallow it...but she aint, is she? I know that technically I can't get the Spell Domain without worshipping her , but that is something my DMs over look, as long as I have a good RP for the Ideals I want to worship (no Spelll and Celerity combos without a very good reason)
I wonder if a combo of anyspell and Rarys Mnomic Enhancer would be agood way to get several arcane spells going at once. No, I dont have any specific plan, but I love flexiblity, and the Idea of being able to be a cleric with access to alot of the sorc/wiz list screams flexibility to me.
The idea so far is to be an young sicon from a hidden clan of Death Touched mystery cultists. As a Cloistered Cleric of Shadow,Spell and of course Knowledge, he would persue secrets of all sorts, the darker and more mystical the better.

1.Maybe if she where nuetral I could swallow it...but she aint, is she?

Mystra is in fact Neutral Good. She has to walk the 'all magic' line. See, she supports all magic equaly, from magic that grows trees to magic that destroies cities. Now, personaly, she does not like the evil, dark, side of magic...but she can't let her personal feeling get in the way.
She is more then willing to accept the good of magic over the good of something else, though she woun't like it.

2.I wonder if a combo of anyspell and Rarys Mnomic Enhancer would be a good way to get several arcane spells going at once.
You'd need Greater Anyspell for that, of course. And you would not be able to 'study' Arcane spells, only use the Retain option. Though that could work to give you at least two spells running.

3.and the Idea of being able to be a cleric with access to alot of the sorc/wiz list screams flexibility to me.

Agreed. A good way to do this is to take a single level in Sor/Wiz. That gives you access to all thoes Arcane spells. The neat trick is you can use wands of any Arcane spell. If you want to give up raw power for flexibility, you can level up equaly.

4.As a Cloistered Cleric of Shadow,Spell and of course Knowledge, he would persue secrets of all sorts, the darker and more mystical the better.

This could work well for a Cleric of Mystra. Someone out there, on the edge of her Clerigy, looking for dark mystical secrets.
