| Trippinskip07-16-07, 09:36 PM | Is there any spell that essentially causes a living person to fall into a dormant, dead like state for any period of time? I have an NPC that has been dormant for 45 years, and recently awoke to find himself 45 years into the future from what he remembers. I did not want to mess with any sort of time travel thing really, as that gets complicated. But if there is a spell that could cause him to fall dormant, or essentially dead for a long period of time, and leave his body unaltered, that would work perfectly. Any idea's? |

Any idea's?I'm not sure if there' s a spell in the PHB that does it (although... lol... sleep with permanency maybe? :P) but if this is some sort of plot device you're working on, I would just make it a custom spell - it exists because you say it does. If this is something you expect to see used in the game, then I suppose some more explicit spell rules would be needed. Don't know where you would find those. Depending on how you rate the power of an endless sleep (and the conditions you attach as far as how hard it is to wake up), a bestow curse spell could do the trick. Edit: D'oh! I'm stupid. There is a spell in the PHB: temporal stasis. Sounds like its right up your alley. |
