Somebody has a quote in their sig that talks about Angry Berry-covered Vampires, and the little fact that: "Goodberries=not positive energy".

This got me to thinking, (One of my peeves is the one about the cure spells and inflict spells being conjuration/necromantic and all wrong), So, I was like, "Hmmm. I never looked at Goodberry".

Guess what? It's neither school. It's transmutation. It affects the berries, not the consumer!

Could this be a loophole for arcane casters? A transmuter that researches a similar spell that alters -insert food/drink- to a -insert cure effect-

And don't give me any flack about "That's why druids don't have "GoodWatermelon to mimic the Heal spell"...

Anybody else ever wandered down this twisted road of reasoning before?

Edited: You know what, I'll leave the post as is, but I retract all of my reasoning. I just fell prey to munchkinism for about 5 minutes, for no reason that I can even put a finger on. I know better, than to be looking for loopholes like that. It would devalue the healing classes, just like giving weapon specialization to barbarians and giving cross-class skills away for one level in a class.

My apologies

I see several ways to do this.

The most obvious is: Cast Limited Wish to duplicate a GoodBerry spell.

Necromancy can heal in a roundabout way.

I can see Transmutation being able to close wounds and such, as well.

Divination? Abjuration? Illusion? No, no, no.

What's left? Conjuration? Evokation? ...Uh...Enchantment, that's it!

Well I'd say the only schools able to heal might be Necromancy, Transmutation, and maybe (at a stretch) Conjuration. I actually have a necromancer/druid that casts specialized healing spells designed to sap life from plants and trees to give to other creatures. Trees have plenty of HP, what do they need it for, right?

Transmutation might be good for dehabilitating effects, but I don't see it going far.

Same goes for Conjuration. Unless you can conjure up a few potions of CLW...

Its all good. Everyone gives munchkinism a try in their career. :D

Simple solution: research a spell that polymorphs you into yourself (minus any wounds). Gives you a nights rest, but it does it with serious Transmutive power so it should be 3rd level at least.

If it is SO BROKEN to allow Arcane Healing, why isnt it SO BROKEN to allow Divine Damage spells (Flame Strike.. Fire Storm...?)

I'd allow a well thought out Arcane Healing spell, but I wouldnt allow one as good as a Clerical healing spell. Then again, I'm working on a way to tone down Divine Damage spells, so...

If it is SO BROKEN to allow Arcane Healing, why isnt it SO BROKEN to allow Divine Damage spells (Flame Strike.. Fire Storm...?)Becuase clerics are supposed to be better than wizards. :P I'd allow a well thought out Arcane Healing spellAnd herein lies the obstacle.
