Kith_Adorin 05-11-06, 08:02 PM	Ok, I found arcane scrolls. My DM rolled it out. Two spells I am confused on. One, Silence, its in the DMG as arcane 2nd lvl, but in the PHB it does not exist for wizards. Only bards and clerics. Is this wrong, typo? I had always thought silence was a wizard/sorcerer spell too. Second spell, Disguise self. In DMG its 2nd lvl. In PHB its first, thought it does not matter since my prohibited is illusion and enchantment. I would like to know which book is correct on lvl. Thanks for any input!
Merestil Haye 05-11-06, 08:10 PM	Firstly, the Silence scroll. Silence is on the Bard class list at 2nd level. Any Bard-scribed scroll of Silence will be an Arcane scroll of Silence. This spell has never been a Sorcerer/Wizard spell. Not in any version of the game. The scroll is useless to a non-Bard. As for second level Disguise Self, this is a typo on the tables, as the spell description states it is 1st level. Iirc, the 2nd level scroll table is missing Alter Self, while Disguise Self appears on both first and second level lists. I would treat the scroll as Alter Self. Your DM can do that, reroll, or declare it's Disguise Self at first level.
