09-15-06, 07:38 PM Can someone link me to a thread that tells how to exploit this spell???
If not, is there a way to exploit this spell by having the option of casting some spells as full round actions???
Can I use Extraordinary Spell Aim and the spell could be cast as a standard action.
Are there any class abilities, feats or spells that can make you choose to cast spells as full round actions??

Spontaneous casters who use metamagic feats normally increase the spells casting time to a full round action, this would work with arcane spellsurge

09-15-06, 11:35 PM As a Wizard, be a Conjurer Specialist variant from the Unearthed Arcana book. This allows you to chose an option to spontaneously cast all your spells as the level-appropriate Summon Monster spell.

Your SM spells then become standard action casting spells while your normal standard action spells become swift action spells.

Now you are casting 2 spells per round with ease - using the Arcane Spellsurge spell that is. Plus, you probably want to structure your build's feats and/or gear to accomodate your summoning schtick as well.

Plus, you get the added versatility feature of prepping all your spells as utility, buff, divination, or alternate attack spells knowing full well they can be easily converted to SM spells in a heartbeat.

09-16-06, 01:20 AM If I am under the effects of Arcane Spellsurge, I suppose that activating a Staff would still be a standard action, and also Full Attacking after good buffs could be an option

Meaning you still recoup your standard action casting capability on the round this spell is cast.

Still, Summon spells and 1 round casting time spells (like Hiss of Sleep from Draconomicon) get a lot of great utility out of this spell.
