kaor 05-23-06, 10:18 AM	What happens when you use Arcane Thesis with heighten spell? Say you heighten it one level. Is it +1 dc with no cost for it? Or is the spell truly a spell of higher level then?
Warmage-in-Onley 05-23-06, 11:00 AM	IIRC, Arcane Thesis states that it does not affect (lower) the spell slot cost for Heighten Spell.
b3jsd73jfx 05-23-06, 02:48 PM	No arcane thesis does not say that. There is no ruling on this as of now (there was a discussion on the CO board about this as well). There's also Energy Substitution which increases the spell level by 0. So you use an Arcane Thesis'd Cold Substituted Fireball that now takes up a level 2 slot instead of a level 3 (Level 3 Fireball + 0 for Energy Substitution [Cold] - 1 for Arcane Thesis). Of course, this all up to the DM's discretion.
