I know a ring that makes it so you only need 2 hours rest to gain 8 and I also know in the CM released a magical bedroll that lets you rest for one hour to gain 8....

However is there any item that makes it so you don't need sleep period?

Also if there aren't any such items, any ideas on what such an item would cost as I plan to bring this to my DM in hopes of making one (Yep, he lets me create custom magic items)?

Well, lesser restoration removes any fatigue suffered by the target...:P
I am not sure if that completely eliminates all the drawbacks of not sleeping though.

I've seen items and powers that make people immune to fatigue.. but I can't find where is says that lack of sleep gives one fatigue (which if found would lead me to think.. that if indeed one was immune to fatigue then they don't get tired.. hence don't need sleep)

Any idea on what book/page that info would be on?

Please note that even if you remove the need to sleep altogether, spellcasters need to rest to regain spells, not sleep.

You could use wish to turn yourself into a warforged, since they don't need to sleep. You could also get the Ocean tattoo from the Tattooed Monk PrC, but that would cost you at least nine levels: probably not something you're interested in.

In any case, warforged casters (and presumably other casters who don't sleep) still need to rest to regain spells. Most find a quiet, repetitive, nonstrenuous hobby to do during this time: some whittle sticks, some braid elaborate knots, some sharpen swords, some just meditate, and so on.

I think theres some armor of the unending hunt or somesuch i saw somewhere.. i think it was chainmail or chain shirt. Also enabled you to run unlimited..

Cant remember what book it was in though... I think, though am not sure.. that it also let you get away without sleeping.

[edit] Its in complete warrior.

It makes you immune to fatigue and exaustion. SO.. no need to sleep with it on. Can just keep on running.. awesome item.

Thanks! I have that book too. :)

The armor itself is a +2 mithral Chainmail and it runs for 21,500gp.

Now that I have a base for pricing such an item if I made it myself.. I'm thinking that:

+2 enchantment cost =4k
mithral chainmail =4,150

so 21,500 - 8,150 = 13,350

so making an item with that ability should run somewhere around 14k.

I'll run this by my DM and see what he thinks. :D

Any spell that raises the dead as undead will negate the need for sleep from the recipient.

I vaguely recall a greater ring of sustenance (no need to sleep or breathe). Did still need to rest (read a booK) in order to gain back spells which I hated. I want an item that gives me my spells back every 24 hours or even better a permanently ongoing mana recharge system e.g I have 100 mana spells cost 1-9 mana depending on level and I get back 13 mana an hour. Sigh stupid game balance.

No need to wish to become a warforged. Just get the wakeful mind construct graft from Faiths of Eberron.

Other options include the Tomb-Born Vitality feat from Libris Mortis
