The wording of dispel magic is leaving me a little confused as to what happens when you use an area dispel and I'd appreciate anyone who could clear it up for me. When you cast an area dispel, does it only dispel one spell from each creature in the area, or does it dispel all spells on a creature of a level lower than the level your caster level check lets you beat? Thanks |

So in your case, it only dispels one spell per creature, but keeps on attempting to dispel some spell if it fails with the others. |

Thanks You go until you get a success, then you dispel that effect and stop with that subject. A side note you take things in order of highest CASTER level, and NOT spell level. To whit if you have a 6th caster level mage armor spell and a 5th caster level haste spell active then the area dispel would first check the mage armor (and if it dispels it then it would not check nor effect the haste spell). -James |
