| Moon-Lancer01-23-05, 01:10 AM | In regard to spells that do an area effect such as burning hands, does an attacker roll separate damage for each foe? Or is it a one role damages all? Any help and refrence quotas are in much need. thanks |
| Vanigo01-23-05, 01:19 AM | I don't think it actually says anywhere. Most groups roll once, just to make things easier. |
| MystErikEry01-23-05, 01:22 AM | As far as I know, it doesn't actually specify at all... If it were me, I'd roll once per target, except in cases where it's affecting a very large number of targets (which is the rare case)... But since I tend to play online games, rather than tabletop ones, rolling a large number of dice and seeing the totals is very easy. Most would probably just roll once, and go with that... |
| Zendu01-23-05, 01:37 AM | honestly, considering the inherint chaoticness of magic, id say once, otherwise you end up with a huge medium of rolls. Not to mention being insanly easier for everyone. |
| Seeker9501-23-05, 09:13 AM | For area effect spells (fireball, et al), roll once. For multiple target spells (magic missile, et al), roll for each target. For targeted spells that simply might affect more than one target (burning hands), I would only roll once. |
