I'm attempting to create an Armor Domain for one of my dwarven deities, and am having a bit of a problem. Thus, I thought I'd turn towards the creative minds here for some ideas! If anyone could link spells they have created, or post new spells below, that would be great. I'll post what I have so far below. Thanks again everyone!

Armor Domain
Deities: Nyrgund
Granted Power: The armor check penalty of any suit of armor that you wear is reduced by one point per two cleric levels you possess.

Armor Domain Spells
1. Shield: Invisible disc gives +4 to AC, blocks magic missiles.
2. Protection from Arrows: Subject immune to most ranged attacks.
3. Magic Vestment: Armor or shield gains +1 enhancement per four caster levels.
4. Stoneskin: Ignore 10 points of damage per attack.
5. ?
6. ?
7. ?
8. Iron Body: Your body becomes living iron.
9. ?

I would like to replace Shield and Protection from Arrows with something more appropriate, but they'll do in lieu of anything better.

I dun know about the selected ability granted by choosing the Armor Domain. It's a great idea, but the highest Armor Check I've seen in Core has been -8.

Generally speaking, the ability granted by choosing a Domain should not become useless, espically at low levels.

The potential to wear a suit of Full Plate, plus be able to Swim and Move Silently without penalty is potentially broken.

Now of course this is your creation, and ultimately your decision, but if I can make a suggestion, have the Armor Check pentalty lower one point every five levels, starting at the first level.

P.S. - I'm looking for spells to add to your list.

Perhaps the solution to the granted power problem is to instead have it reduce the penalty by 1/3 cleric levels (min. 1).

*nods* Aye, I agree with you. It was originally one point per two levels, which I felt was better, but the players thought it was weak. I thought someone would comment on it. ;)

I'll change it back to 1 per two -- still useful at lower levels, kinda, but really great if one sticks with it.

Dentritic armour from races of faerun has armour check penalty of -9 or -10, I think. ;)

There is a 3rd level spell in Complete Arcane called Greater Mage Armor that gives a +6 armor bonus to AC. You could make it a 4th level Armor Domain spell and move Stoneskin to 5th level.

This looks too much like the Protection Domain to me. But, Major Creation could be on your list. Barkskin's another decent choice, I think.

Thanks for the help everyone, both here and in messages. I managed to piece together enough spells to get the domain about to where I want it. I'm not exactly pleased with prosmatic sphere at 9th, but...*shrugs*

I see what you mean about a resemblance to the Protection domain. I've swapped a spell or two out in that domain for more thematic ones from elsewhere, and have more or less tried to avoid doubling up on granted spells between the two. I understand the simularities between the two, though...hopefully the changes below will give the Armor Domain its own little flavor.

For the sake of completeness, here's the Armor Domain I pieced together.

Armor Domain
Deities: Nyrgund
Granted Power: The armor check penalty of any suit of armor that you wear is reduced by one point per two cleric levels you possess.

Armor Domain Spells
1. Silverbeard: You beard turns to silver, granting you an armor bonus of +2 . (Magic of Faerun)
2. Iron Silence: Armor no longer restricts Hide, Move Silently checks. (from, er...somewhere, heh)
3. Magic Vestment: Armor or shield gains +1 enhancement per four caster levels.
4. Armor of Force: Armor applies to touch AC, incorporeal creatures. (Hammer and Helm, kudos to their Armor Domain...inspirational and well done)
5. Animate Armor: Animates armor that serves you. (spell of my own, akin to animate dead/animate objects)
6. Stoneskin: Ignore 10 points of damage per attack.
7. Armored Skin: You absorb a suit of armor, gaining its armor bonus as natural armor. (Hammer and Helm again, with a few adjustments)
8. Iron Body: Your body becomes living iron.
9. Prismatic Sphere: As prismatic wall, but surrounds on all sides. (....meh. It'll appear like armor, i suppose....really should just make a "prismatic armor" spell or the like, though)
