| greatfrito04-05-05, 09:25 PM | Okay, this is reposted from the Eberron boards (probably the wrong place to post in the first place). Just wanted some kind of feedback on it. Sorry 'bout the multiple posting (here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=406804) is the old post) Okay, so, don't actually remember what was in the above post (and I'm too damn lazy to go check it, so there!), but here goes my current incarnation of this (and my justifications and reasonings for the price). ------------------------------- "Power Harness" [Attached Warforged Component; Vest slot] This magical steel harness can only be used by Warforged - it fits over the 'forged's torso, and several metal "pins" slide into place, locking it into the warforged. In addition, the harness can only be activated by an Artificer. The harness consists of several metal straps on the front that cross over the front of the torso, and a solid metal back. On the back, where the 'forged's shoulder blade would be located beneath on each side, sit two (one on each shoulder-blade) Eberron dragonshards (each a bit larger than the size of a grown man's fist). The harness serves one purpose: enhancing the power of other magic items borne by the living construct. Each day, the wearer of the harness can choose to either increase the save DC of an attached item's effects. This can only be applied to abilities that duplicate the effects of spells. Three times per day (3/day), the wearer can speak a command word and "charge" a single other attached magic item with energy. For 3 minute afterwards, the designated item has a +2 enhancement bonus on its saving throw DC, or to the attack roll for a spell that requires a touch attack (the wearer must choose either to increase the DC or the attack roll, but cannot choose to increase both). This bonus applies to only one chosen ability of the magic item - if the item has more than one ability, it can have each enhanced individually, but each time uses one of the uses per day. In addition, the wearer can choose to further enhance any spell-like ability from an attached magic item by syphoning the very energy that animates the warforged into the item. Syphoning energy into an item requires no additional action (it is essentially a part of activating the item). The wearer of the harness can choose to take Constitution damage to increase either the save DC or the attack roll of the chosen spell-like ability, taking 2 points of damage for every +1 bonus to the spell. The wearer can take as much constitution damage as he wishes with a single activation of this ability, but cannot take enough damage to reduce his constitution score below 1. This damage heals normally, given time or magical assistance. The bonus from the energy-syphoning aspect of the harness is purposely unnamed, and stack with any other bonuses. The targetted magic item does not need to be "charge" by the harness in order to syphon energy into it.
