1st
Can you use the artificer ability to quicken a spell from a wand?

2nd

If you blade barrier someone and then put a quicken wall of ice around them do y'all think they still get a saving throw?

Thanks

1) I think so. Not positive.

2) Yes. A save against a spell happens faster than a quickened action. Even if you did, there is no way to arrange without a) giving the victim a safe place to jump or b) having the blade barrier eat the wall of ice.

1. Yes, this is actually the example given in the class description for this ability. He would spend 5 charges (1 for the spell, and 4 to offset the number of increased spell levels).

2. I'd say yes. I mean, if you are really good, you can dodge a good deal of blades since they aren't completely filling up every empty space.
