| Tristan05-31-06, 05:55 PM | hey, I was wondering if I missed something here. There is a spell in the players handbook that creates a bunch of (phantom?) warriors who, its states, can treaten and flank, have an AC of twenty, and I think it might list Hp per warrior. It says they can make AoO, too, but I dont see any listed damage or anything. Is this suppose to be a entirely mental thing (Enemy:"Oh know, if i move that way that possibly quasi-real warrior might hit me) or what? |
| Karak_Nechot05-31-06, 06:09 PM | They don't actually attack, just keep acting like they are attacking to keep you guessing. They do not have a threat range, nor can they actually be attacked. The spell only has two effects, when you get right down to it. 1) Creatures in the area of effect who fail their save cannot make attacks of opportunity. 2) Creatures in the area of effect who fail their save are considered flank by anyone attacking them. The reason for this is that the imaginary battle going on is just so 'busy' that the creatures who cannot mentally cope with it act much worse in real combat. Every creature in the area of effect clearly knows they are illusionary, but the simple fact that the illusionary fighters are constantly moving around and fighting each other is a huge distraction to a real battle. |
| Tristan05-31-06, 06:12 PM | actually the spell im thinking of is not imaginary battle. The one Im thinking of is a few pages before that I think |
| Seeker9505-31-06, 06:44 PM | Perhaps you could actually name the spell? |
| Aranov05-31-06, 06:50 PM | It sounds like it is Legion of Sentinels you are talking about, is that right? If so the damage is listed in the short descriptions in the class spell lists (pg. 97 and 100) but got missed from the full spell description. |
