| SephDragoon04-16-07, 01:02 AM | This isn't a question of the spell itself, but of a combination, and I am wondering if it would work. Please tell why or why not, not just a yes or no, because I don't want this to be a thread about "no, that is broken". What if you had 2 weapons both enhanced with clouting (Or just one, since that would work as well), and you used a twined whirling blade? You have two going, and you have two weapons whirling towards someone. Lets assume they are right in front of you... if they got hit by the blade, they could be knocked back 10 feet. Now... because they moved back 10 feet, they would be in line to get hit again... Essentially you could be hit 6 times with each weapon because you traveled with the weapons. Am I right in assuming that this combonation could be used to attack a SINGLE person 12 times? |

With a normal line spell, all points on the line are effected simultaneously, so the effect would have already taken place by the time they were knocked back. On the other hand, Whirling Blade's description strongly implies that the blade flies out to hit targets one by one. Also, line spells can sometimes take effect while determining area - Lightning Bolt breaking through barriers, for instance. |

| SephDragoon04-16-07, 03:36 AM | Whirling Blade doesn't target an item at all... it uses it as a focus. I am suprised by the responses. I would have figured my first responses would have been nay sayers. This is of course not meant to be for a player at all. This is just more of an idea I had (NPC perhaps). Still, the idea of it is pretty interesting. |
