Wyrd Bearer 05-25-05, 02:10 PM	Um, yeah, about that. The book doesn't list a duration (I know this for a fact because I STARED at that spell for nigh on an hour and found nothing). I'd just use the duration for a regular web spell for the web effect. Though obviously the effect that happened to the originally targeted creature is permenant.

Exactly, the spell doesn't state how long the mass of blood vessels stay stuck to the walls, entangling those caught in them. The duration of the spell says "See text" and the text says that after the secondary duration is up, "the blood vessel mass becomes only so much limp, decaying tissue," without actually giving a secondary duration. So like I said before, the spell just basically duplicates the web spell in a fashion, so just use the web's duration for the secondary effect. *Edit* Entangle is also good. Really, just decide for yourself if an 8th level spell warrants a duration of 1 minute/level or 10 minute/level.

Keenath 05-28-05, 04:00 AM	The entrapping effect of Avascular Mass is exactly like Web, not like Entangle. Like AM, Web must anchor to opposite points to work, Entangles anyone in the area and has a save or be stuck. They both require Strength checks to escape being stuck, or to push through the materal. How on earth is that like Entangle in any way, which just wraps weeds around your legs?
xorrn 05-28-05, 04:42 AM	entangle coves your WHOLE body with new plant growth and doesnt need to be anchored to anything it just affects the area i dont have LM but from whats been said it SEEMS that the victims blood vesels trap the people around them but hey i dont know as for WoTC messing stuff up sure it happened in 3ed and bfore but not nearly as much as 3.5 when hasbor bought them out hasbor is pumping out beek every 2 or 3 months so id guess they just dont have the time to double or triple check all the books ps i cant spell i know i cant spell and i almost never use puncuation but im not being paid or even lisened to 95% of the time
