Any good ways for this? Can cast 6th level arcane spells and is usually buffed heavily. I know about spell turning, but cannot cast that high yet. Is there anything I can do until then to stop or avoid this spell?

Thank you for any suggestions.

Get your opponent to choose the wrong target: Mislead, mirror image, disguise self (as a fighter)

Prevent it from being cast: counter spelling, stifle spell, readied action to damage the caster

Avoid being seen: fog cloud, invisibility

Get out of range: contingency (dimension door), readied action to dim door

That's a few ideas anyway.

Mirror image doesn't stop you from being the target of a spell does it?

It says

Enemies attempting to attack you or cast spells at you must select from among indistinguishable targets. Generally, roll randomly to see whether the selected target is real or a figment.

Effectively, d20 treats the images as seperate people.

If there are one you plus 3 fake yours, then someone attempting to target you with a spell must pick one of them. They have a 1 in 4 chance of getting the real you, 3 in four of wasting a spell.

Does magic missile remove a target. I read in another thread that they were saying that a figment would not constitute a real target for the missile. I'm not up on all the illusion types and how they interact.

Yes, magic missile can target one of the illusions, and thus when it hits would destroy that image.

It is a little confusing, and requires DM interpretation. Here is how I think of it:

No, you can't really target an image, because it is not a legal target for a spell. But you can try to and discover that it doesn't work, just like you can attack an image an discover it's not real. Due to the nature of the mirror image spell, once an observer establishes that an image is unreal, it disappears altogether.

So in my way of thinking, you can cast magic missile and try to target the images. No actual force missile flies between you an them, but they vanish just as if struck.

A magic missile will pop an individual mirror image, but every time one of them is hit, it's a shell game with you and the others. Someone has four magic missiles and there's you and six figments? Roll a d8, rerolling on an 8 and designating you as #1. Anything else pops a figment. There's a possibility the person with the magic missile gets lucky and hits you four times and none of the figments pop. There's also a chance he hits only figments.

For area effect spells, the figments are unaffected. Someone hits you with a fireball? Your figments mirror you and look equally fried or unfried. They're only popped by direct targeting.

Could Someone then use Magic missle as an easy mirror image removal tool then (i.e. target one missile per image)?

Jack

P.S. For the OP there is an Armor enchantment in Player's Guide to Faerun that lets you get immunity to one specific spell (and when hit by it retarget it onto someone else as a free action). The name of it escapes me at the moment, but IIRC its a flat cost of +6000gp for the enchantment.

I checked out the Player's guide. The only armor enhancement I see is the death warding. I didn't see this option anywhere. Are you sure it is in that book?

This is why it's also SOP to have shield up and running....

At least they fixed Reciprocal Gyre and lowered the damage to 1d12 per spell up and not 1d6 per spell level in place as it was orignally!!!
