| prozacman11-20-05, 05:38 AM | ok, so i'm playing a druid currently.. and i've been stoaked to be able to awaken my animal companion, just because its cool. I hadn't actually read the spell until recently, but the idea of an animal w/ near human intelligence appealed to me. but i digress i just read the spell and it said an awakened animal cannot serve as a familiar, animal companion, or special mount. does that mean if i awaken my animal companion, it ceases to be my companion? that'd be lame, but.. meh. what do you guys think? is there something i'm missing? perhaps an update to the rules? or something? *hopeful gleam in eyes* |

I don't know about handle animal allies, though, and I wonder if you might have to take Leadership for that... On the other hand, you can hire hirelings and buy horses and stuff without Leadership, so I don't see why you couldn't have an awakened animal as a "companion" , even if it doesn't count as your Animal Companion anymore (and thus would take up a portion of the XP). |
