However, it says nothing about saves or SR. It's kinda overpower, don't you think? I mean, it can probably averagely kill creatures of 12 level without a save doesnt it? another thing... can it be cast extra times per day with like, an "extra supernatural ability" feat or an "empowered supernatural ability"? There are so many books already Im lost with what does/does not exist. |

The ability to deal 55 damage once per day is by no means overpowered at 13th level, and would not be of particular threat to appropriately challenging creatures, and would be wasted on lower level creatures. A maximized and empowered Scorching Ray would deal of 93 damage, and would not be difficult to accomplish at that level (spell level 7, available to prepared casters at this level) |
| Empirate09-07-07, 05:53 PM | Supernatural abilities don't allow for SR (it's SPELL resistance, after all). Also, if no save is mentioned, then there is no save. Period. How many times do you think a 13th+ level caster is going to enter melee to make a 1/day touch attack, to only deal 55 damage that can't be maximized, empowered, twinned or whatever? Melee is not where they should be in the first place, and being able to deal 55 damage is rather... meh at that level. It's nice and flavorful, but hardly devastating. |
