| Bedlamtom08-11-07, 03:45 PM | I realize that Boguns are listed as constructs but they are druid made plant creatures. Could they be awakened? Also is there anything that keeps a druid from making an army of Boguns? |
| bloodtalon08-11-07, 04:17 PM | how i understand the bogun a druid can only have one at a time as for awaken spells in savage species there is a spell called awaken constuct but a druid can not cast it |
| Bedlamtom08-11-07, 04:25 PM | I just read the Bogun writeup and the beget Bogun spell from the spell compendium and unless I'm blind nothing limits the druid to only one, not even in the fluff. |
| locustechpriest08-11-07, 04:32 PM | There you have it. Awakened bogun army, arise!! (Sorry for spamming, but it seems like this topic is more of less done anyway...) |
| CantripN08-12-07, 01:37 AM | Problems: Each costs 25 XP. DC 12 Craft check for each one. Must be 7th level, so they are VERY weak. They aren't Mindless, so you can't Awaken them. An attack that destroys a Bogun deals the Druid 2d10 points of damage! Must cast Control Plants for each creation (an 8th level spell!). Must have Craft Wondrous Item. |

I don't mind burning the feat, I'll use it to make other goodies! |
| Grumman08-12-07, 12:39 PM | Problems: They aren't Mindless, so you can't Awaken them. I can't speak for the version in Savage Species, but the Awaken Construct spell in the Spell Compendium doesn't have this limitation. You'd still need to find a cleric or wizard willing to spend 5000xp to make your walking detritus sentient. |

Also is there anything that keeps a druid from making an army of Boguns? If Awaken worked on Constructs, then yes. But unless you can show a version of Awaken that works on constructs, then no. You can never have more than one Bogun, just like Wizards can never have more than one Homunculus. |

You can never have more than one Bogun, just like Wizards can never have more than one Homunculus. I never really thought I could awaken it, but I wanted to see what folks said. On the other hand show me one indication in either the fluff or the crunchy bits for the bogun writeup or the beget bogun spell that limits a druid to one. I cannot find one. |
| CantripN08-14-07, 04:20 AM | Also, there's Awaken Construct, which I think people were referring to. Sure, it's a 9th level spell... |
