Arturius1 07-03-07, 08:01 PM	I know the immediate effect would be the undead would come back to life, but who would be at the wheel? Would the original creature's soul return? If so, what happens to the awakened undead soul?
Sarlax 07-03-07, 08:41 PM	I think RAW just dictates that the undead intelligence ceases to be, but it opens up neat possibilities. Perhaps it becomes an incorporeal creature similar to a ghost, capable of possessing other mindless undead and imbuing them with intelligence. Another possibility is that it lingers as a powerless but communicative force in the risen creature, a lingering whisper of negative energy that suggests the creature behave in particular ways, and, upon the death of the risen creature, will reanimate the body and assume control.
groveborn 07-04-07, 07:05 AM	If the Awaken Undead spell imbues the undead with a soul, then that soul now owns that body, and as such may choose to not accept a resurrection, thus making it ineffectual.
