Here's one of the first I came up with: Discrete Depilation Conjuration Level: Sor/Wiz 3, Bard 2, Assassin 2 Components: S Casting Time: 1 Standard action Range: Close (25ft. + 5ft. / 2 levels) Target: One creature Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: Special, see text Spell Resistance: Yes This spell was created by wizards to greatly aid the scrying of their less overt enemies. When the spells is cast, the caster points at the creatre to be depliated. A small tuft of their hair is plucked from their body, and instantly transported to the caster's person (usually to an empty pouch the caster has on hand). This may, at the caster's option, deal one point of damage, with a Fortitude save to negate the damage. The target does not necessarily know the caster has gotten their hair, although if they are of size huge or smaller or if the caster used the damaging option, they instantly know that something has plucked out some of their hair. Most targets (Especially those with magical knowledge) will try to investigate what has just happened. A caster using this spell is well advised to be invisible, or at least have a fast talking friend nearby! It doens't seem like it does too much, but this spell really might be broken... I like it alot though. Any comments? |

It could be very useful for gathering spell componants for some of the higher level spells, perhaps make it a ranger spell as he can use the hair to keep track of the person who it belongs to. In all it's a very useful spell. |

After all, it's supposed to be discrete ! It shouldn't forcefully pluck hair, but rather "cut" it out, silently and unseen. The amount of hair should also be minimal. I would drop the level to 2 for sor/wiz, and then (after changing so that's not immediately noticeable) it should be fine spell (since it has only somatic components, making it possible to actually use). Maybe it could be also used to just teleport very small objects (without any noticeable weight) into caster's hand, whatever they are ? I think it could enhance the spell and power it up to 2nd level standards. |
