| Bastage04-22-06, 04:48 AM | My Druid wants to create the Awesome Animal Amulet for his Companion. I want +1 Con, Magic Fang, Charm Animal and Speak with animals. I'm having trouble caculating the cost. Can anyone help? Thanks... |
| Lazzmaniandevil04-22-06, 08:12 AM | +1 Con .....bonus squared (1 X 1 ) X 1,000gp = 1,000 gp Magic Fang (at will) ....spell level (1) X caster level (1) X 2,000 gp X duration adjustment (2) = 4,000gp Charm Animal (at will) ....spell level (1) X caster level (1) X 2,000 gp = 2,000gp Speak with animals (at will) ....spell level (1) X caster level (1) X 2,000 gp X duration adjustment (2) = 4,000gp I would consider the three spells to be similar abilities, so... 4,000 + (4,000 X 75%) + (2,000 X 50%) = 8,000gp but the +1 con should be considered a different ability, so 8,000 + (1,000 X 150%) = 9,500 gp Add that the item doesn't match the body slot affinity... 9,500 X 150% = 14,250gp Now, let's try with the spells 3/day each.... Magic Fang (at will) ....spell level (1) X caster level (1) X 2,000 gp X 3/5 = 1,200gp Charm Animal (at will) ....spell level (1) X caster level (1) X 2,000 gp X 3/5 = 1,200gp Speak with animals (at will) ....spell level (1) X caster level (1) X 2,000 gp X 3/5 = 1,200gp I would consider the three spells to be similar abilities, so... 1,200 + (1,200 X 75%) + (1,200 X 50%) = 2,700gp but the +1 con should be considered a different ability, so 2,700 + (1,000 X 150%) = 4,200 gp And the item still doesn't match the body slot affinity... 4,200 X 150% = 6,300gp |

| Bastage04-23-06, 04:04 AM | Bump.... |
| NightBreeze04-23-06, 12:44 PM | A collar? |
| ashcat_lt04-23-06, 01:01 PM | It doesn't really matter what slot you put it in, at least one of the abilities is going to be in the wrong place. You didn't mention what kind of animal you're talking about, but most animals actually have pretty much the same slots as humans. They need special armor and most can't have hand held weapons, but that's about it. I would like to know, though, how you're going to get an Int2 critter to trigger any of the spells. Charm animal seems really strange to me, and just what do you suppose your animal companion is going to have to say to any other animal? |
| Bastage04-23-06, 09:19 PM | The idea is I would activate Charm and Speak. I guess I would require a matching amulet. |
